Early mist and low cloud soon clearing. Then another dry day with some good spells of sunshine, though more cloud at times around Mull and Oban, and high cloud increasing elsewhere later. Very warm. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Tonight:

A very warm and sunny evening will be followed by a dry night with some clear spells though sea fog may drift in towards the Argyll Islands. Winds remaining light. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Friday:

Another dry day with some good spells of sunshine, though there could be some mist and sea fog around the Argyll Islands for a time. A hot day. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

A cooler cloudier Saturday with best of sun on west coast. Cloudy start on Sunday then brightening up with sunny intervals. Monday dry and sunny and becoming warmer.

High pressure initially situated to the north of the UK with low pressure over the Bay of Biscay starts the period with broadly settled weather for much of the UK. There will, however, be a risk of thunderstorms spreading into the south of the UK from France at times. Through the weekend potentially turning more unsettled with some rain or showers and thunderstorms at times as low pressure and a more northerly wind affect the UK at times. Temperatures will be warm or very warm for most, perhaps hot at times in the southwest initially, likely easing to warm or near average into the weekend, though further hot spells possible between systems.

The signal through the end of July and into August becomes increasingly mixed with spells of low pressure and more unsettled weather becoming more likely. There may still be some thunderstorms at times as well. There will still probably be some dry interludes, most probably in the south and southeast. Temperatures are likely to remain warm or very warm and some spells of hot weather remain possible.
