Rise in carbon dioxide off track for limiting global warming to 1.5°C
The increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) is now incompatible with IPCC pathways which remain below 1.5°C, a Met Office study finds.

Cloudy for most overnight with any clear periods this evening tending to fill in with cloud. Remaining largely dry but occasional drizzly outbreaks or snow grains are possible later. Cold and frosty with freezing fog patches possible for a time. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
Another cold and cloudy day for most with a few favoured areas to the north of higher ground perhaps seeing some brightness at times. Often misty over the hills. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Patchy rain and drizzle arriving early next week, interspersed with drier, brighter intervals too. Some cold and frosty nights to come, but temperatures slowly recovering to nearer average.
