Cloudy periods to start the day, some rain possible across the Pennines but remaining dry for most places. Sunny spells developing during the afternoon with a few showers likely. Temperatures remaining above average for the time of year. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Any remaining showers fading during the evening, then turning dry and settled overnight with the wind easing. Staying mild for most places although a little cooler in rural spots. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday:

Cloud quickly thickens as it turns to a rather grey and wet day for most places. Heavy outbreaks of rain possible in the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Wet and windy weather continues as bands of rain move through followed by brighter but showery interludes. Temperatures dropping down to normal for the time of year.

Atlantic low pressure systems will continue to push showers or longer spells of rain east across the UK. The best of the drier conditions are usually more likely towards the south and east, with more frequent rain across the west and northwest. Drier weather may start to become more dominant through the second week of June. Temperatures will be near-normal overall, with the warmest spots most likely across eastern areas. It will also be breezy at times, especially across western parts, and notably so around some coastal areas.

Drier and more settled weather may develop as high pressure becomes more dominant, although some showery interludes are still possible. The forecast turns more mixed towards the end of the month, with rain and showers perhaps having more of an influence. Temperatures likely to trend above average as we head further into June, with very warm spells possible in places.
