Today:

Hill fog and rain, locally heavy, at first. Through today the rain gradually becomes lighter and more intermittent, but cloudy conditions persist. Windy in places, especially over high ground and along the coast. Feeling chilly with the easterly wind. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Starting cloudy with patchy light rain. Overnight mostly dry and conditions with broken cloud and clear periods will gradually spread south. Becoming colder than recent nights. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Sunday:

Largely dry with bright or sunny spells and patchy cloud, although isolated light coastal showers will arrive. Feeling cold with temperatures slightly below average. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday sunshine and scattered coastal showers. Tuesday cloudy conditions with rain may arrive, risk of hill sleet or snow. Wednesday wintry showers, sometimes heavy. Generally cold with some overnight frosts.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all parts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears Wednesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period, there is likely to be a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of slower evolving weather patterns. This could bring rain or showers with hill snow also a possibility, mainly in the north. However, interspersed, there are also likely to be periods of high pressure, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
