Rather cloudy, with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle possible in the afternoon. A southeasterly wind strengthens throughout the day, becoming strong along coasts and exposed areas. Sea fog may affect coastal areas for a time. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining cloudy. Overnight, outbreaks of rain, turning heavy and blustery for some, moving in from the west by Wednesday morning. Staying windy, especially along the coast. Minimum temperature 16 °C.

Wednesday:

A wet start, with some potentially heavy and blustery outbreaks of rain. Brighter, with the wind easing once rain clears, but showers developing later inland. Staying clearer along the coast. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Largely dry and sunny on Thursday, clouding over later. Breezy with showers, heavy at times, on Friday. Mostly dry but cloudy with the wind easing on Saturday.

High pressure will likely be in place over southern UK through the first few days of this period. This means plenty of dry weather to be had here, albeit with some chilly nights and overnight and morning fog in places. In the north, a rather more changeable pattern will continue, with occasional rain and windy conditions at times. Broadly changeable weather patterns look to continue through to mid-month, with ridges of high pressure extending from the southwest, interspersed by Atlantic frontal systems. These could be associated with quite deep and fast-moving depressions, bringing the potential for windy weather more widely, but perhaps more likely in the north and east. Temperatures probably near or slightly above normal overall, but with some day to day oscillations.

Quite an uncertain period of weather, with earlier signals of reliably wetter than normal weather now looking less likely. That being said, the middle of the month could be a quite a changeable period of weather overall, with the wettest weather most likely towards parts of the west and possibly south. It is quite plausible that marked regional variation in rainfall amounts will occur. Temperatures are likely to remain broadly above average overall.
