    Wet and windy through the evening as patchy, but sometimes heavy, rain moves east accompanied by blustery winds. Turning drier, with clear spells overnight and some occasional showers. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

    Friday:

    A cold start with strong winds, patchy cloud and some sunny intervals. Blustery showers at times, especially over the Pennines. Dry later as winds begin to ease. Patchy overnight fog. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    A bright start Saturday, but windy. Turning cloudy with rain overnight. Cloudy Sunday, with outbreaks of rain, perhaps heavy at times. Drier but cloudy Monday.
