    Rain easing overnight. Mainly dry, bright, cold and windy Friday.

    This Evening and Tonight:

    Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy at first but dying out overnight. A few clear breaks possible towards the end of the night. Brisk northeast winds, strong around the coast. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

    Friday:

    Bright with occasional sunny spells and a scattering of showers, these mainly east. Mainly dry and bright in Dumfries and Galloway. Strong and cold northeast winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Mainly dry and bright on Saturday then a patchy frost at night. A scattering of showers on Sunday and Monday, wintry on hills. Chilly winds.
