Inverarish (Highland) weather

Headline:

Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow. A strengthening northerly wind.

Today:

It will be a mainly dry morning over inland parts of the north with rain, sleet and snow elsewhere. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will push south from the afternoon. A northerly wind will strengthen through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

The night will be cold with frequent snow showers for many. These snow showers will be isolated in the southeast. A continuing strong northerly wind. Minimum temperature -5 °C.

Wednesday:

There will be little change Wednesday when frequent snow showers continue for most. Isolated snow showers will be restricted to areas near the Great Glen. Strong northerly winds persist. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

The strong northerly winds and frequent snow showers will ease and clear Thursday. A band of locally heavy rain will pass east Friday with scattered showers following at first Saturday.

Atlantic weather fronts will continue to spread east bringing spells of rain or showers, potentially quite widely. Over subsequent days showery conditions will likely continue but there will be some brighter spells at times. There is also a chance of Atlantic frontal systems moving in from the west at times and temporary periods of northerly flow that may lead to some wintry showers. Temperatures will be a little below normal. A westerly dominated pattern will likely persist through to the end of November with outbreaks of rain or showers and temperatures near to or a little below normal. There could however still be some wintry showers at times in the north. Areas of low pressure may bring longer spells of rain and periods of strong winds at times.

Whilst there is a lot of uncertainty as to the nature of weather affecting the UK into December, it looks likely that it will become more settled for a time with low pressure systems being steered to the south of the UK. There is however the possibility for some periods of rain or wintry precipitation at times. Temperatures are probably near to or a little below normal but there is a chance of winter hazards including snow at times for some.
