It will be cloudy and mild throughout the day with outbreaks of rain, this most persistent and occasionally heavy across Argyll. Chance of the odd brighter spell developing towards Ayrshire later. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

It will be mostly cloudy through the evening and overnight with outbreaks of showery rain, heavy at times. Chance of a few clearer spells developing towards morning. Windy at times. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Thursday:

Windy as cloud and rain spread east through the morning, heavy at times. Clear spells and scattered, blustery showers through the evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy with rain on Friday morning, becoming brighter with a few showers later. Bright Saturday morning, before rain spreads east later. Cloudy and breezy with outbreaks of rain on Sunday.

Changeable conditions are expected, with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Rainfall will typically be heaviest in the northwest, with much less reaching sheltered eastern areas. Some parts of the southeast may be largely fine. Across high ground in the north, some snow is possible at times. Winds will probably be strong at times, with a risk of gales. Temperatures are likely to be near to or slightly above average.

Changeable conditions will probably continue to dominate during this period, with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK. These will bring spells of rain and perhaps strong winds, with the wettest conditions in the northwest, whilst the southeast will likely be driest. Temperatures are likely to be near to or slightly above normal overall. It is possible that longer spells of dry weather occur later in the month as more blocked pattern could develop, which could lead to some colder conditions too.
