It will be mainly dry and bright with some sunny spells and feeling warm in any sunshine. Isolated showers possible and winds mainly light, although breezy around some coasts. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with variable cloud cover, best of any clear spells to the north of Skye. Showery rain, perhaps heavy, could affect Lochaber and the Uists at times. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Thursday:

Bright or sunny spells with scattered heavy, perhaps thundery, showers developing. Best of the sunshine around the west coast and over Skye and Eilean Siar. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Rain or showers at times along with some drier and brighter spells. Winds will be mostly light.

An unsettled period is likely, with showers or longer spells of rain possible across many parts of the UK. Some heavy rain is likely, perhaps with some thunderstorms too. Rainfall amounts will probably be above average for the time year and there is potential for some strong winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop at times, but these will likely be short-lived. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Most likely a continuation of the generally unsettled conditions at first with showers or longer spells of rain across many areas, perhaps heavy and thundery in places. However, there may still be some brief drier interludes at times. Further into September, drier weather may become more prevalent, especially in the south and southeast, with any more unsettled conditions tending to become more likely further north and northwest. Temperatures will probably be near normal at first but may become warmer later, with the possibility of some hot spells in the south.
