This Evening and Tonight:

The odd spot of rain possible in the north at first, otherwise dry with largely clear skies. The odd shower possible in the west around dawn. Slight frost possible in sheltered glens. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Tuesday:

Mainly dry with some brightness, the odd shower Western Isles at first. Rain will spread to the west coast late afternoon, then spread east in evening. Warm in places. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Mostly dry, bright on Wednesday, then rain in the evening. Cooler with sunny intervals and showers on Thursday. Turning wet and windy on Friday.

It will likely remain rather changeable during the first part of this period with showers or occasional longer spells of rain affecting many areas. Whether this takes the form of successive weather systems pushing in from the Atlantic or a more slowly evolving weather pattern is rather more unclear. Some drier, brighter interludes will also occur and when winds are light, it should feel quite warm, despite temperatures most likely being close to normal for most. Beyond mid-month, high pressure may become rather more dominant, bringing more in the way of drier and perhaps warmer weather, though this will be determined by the location and proximity of where any high is positioned relative to the UK.

High pressure will probably be the most dominant pattern during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, but overall rainfall amounts are expected to be below average. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
