A breezy day, dry with sunny periods at first becoming cloudy as a few showers pass east from late morning. Sunny periods increase as the showers clear, leaving the afternoon dry. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with clear periods. A few showers in the south during the evening spread north later before clearing again towards morning. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Tuesday:

Another mostly dry day with long sunny periods early and again late. Cloudy at times with a few showers spreading northeast from around midday. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Mainly dry with a few midday showers building along the Moray coast Wednesday. A band of rain will pass north-eastwards early Thursday with Friday staying cloudy but mostly dry.

Likely continuing changeable with further frontal systems running east into the UK bringing further spells of rain, with showery interludes in-between. Strong winds may also develop at times, particularly in the north and northwest. With time the signs are that systems will increasingly track to the northwest of the country, with the south probably starting to see longer, drier interludes while the northwest continues to see more in the way of rain and at times strong winds, Temperatures are expected to be around normal overall, but will be cooler in any prolonged periods of rainfall. Meanwhile there is the possibility of some very warm, perhaps hot conditions developing, especially in the south and these bring with them the chance of thunderstorms.

Changeable weather across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods. Wetter conditions tending to be across the northwest of the UK, with the south and southeast likely to see more in the way of dry weather, Temperatures are most likely to be near normal or slightly above, perhaps with some hot spells at times, especially across the south.
