A dry and bright start will soon be followed by outbreaks of rain spreading east, these becoming heavy. Strengthening southerly winds with gales near the coast. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Rain clearing at first, then dry for a brief time before frequent showers spread east through the evening and overnight, turning heavy at times. Becoming windy overnight with some gales. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Sunday:

Storm Boelo brings severe gales, particularly to the Moray coast through the middle of the day. Frequent showers or longer spells of heavy rain, drier interludes developing later. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Dry and bright morning Monday, becoming breezy with rain later. Very windy on Tuesday with showers, mainly west and some heavy. Mainly dry and bright Wednesday, some showers in west.

After an unsettled start to the week conditions will likely become more settled with rain and stronger winds becoming more confined to northwestern areas. Likely turning drier and calmer across the south and east bringing a greater chance of chilly nights and morning fog patches. A similar pattern then likely continuing during early November though with a chance that settled conditions may develop more widely for a time. Temperatures varying around average.

Slowly evolving weather patterns are more likely than normal during early in November which increase the chance of spells of settled and drier weather. Most areas are still likely to see some rain or showers at times but the focus of these more likely across the northwest of the UK. Into mid-November, the chances of a more unsettled weather regime increases again with more frequent spells of rain for many areas and likely windy at times. Some cold nights possible during more settled spells, otherwise temperatures likely to be close to, perhaps a little above average.
