Somewhat cloudy at first but mainly dry with just the odd light shower possible. Staying mostly dry overnight with some clear spells developing. Fresh west to northwest winds for Shetland. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday:

Bright or sunny spells with a few showers around in the morning, becoming largely dry through the afternoon. Fresh westerly winds for Shetland at times. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

An unsettled and changeable period, often cloudy with the risk of rain or showers, rain possibly heavy at times

Dry at first across the south with sunny periods, where it will also be very warm. Cloudier in the north with showers or some longer outbreaks of rain, which could be heavy in places, and temperatures nearer normal. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK at the start of August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again toward the end of the first week of August.

Dry and settled conditions will probably dominate much of this period with high pressure patterns tending to affect the UK. This may be interrupted at times by Atlantic frontal systems, especially in the north, or thunderstorms in the south. However, overall rainfall amounts will likely be below normal. Temperatures will probably be above normal and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south.
