Early rain in west. Otherwise brighter spells and afternoon showers.

A rather cloudy morning across western parts, with some patchy light rain about. However dry and bright in the east. The afternoon brings a mix of sunshine and showers for all, with a few heavier outbreaks developing. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Dry evening with winds easing light. Cloud and showers feeding from the south overnight, with the risk of some heavier outbreaks towards dawn. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday:

A cooler day. Cloudy and showery. Outbreaks merging to longer periods of rain at times and bringing the risk of thunderstorms, chiefly to eastern Aberdeenshire. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mainly dry with the best of the sunshine across eastern areas. Some patchy rain reaching from the west, mainly confined to Moray and western Aberdeenshire.

A broad north to south split in the weather across the UK during this period. In the south it expected to be predominantly fine and dry, with spells of sunshine by day and clear spells overnight. Any rainfall that does occur will probably be light and patchy, with most places staying dry. Temperatures will likely be above normal for the time of year and it could be hot at times in the southeast. In the north, probably more changeable, especially at first. Here, conditions are expected to be cloudier with some unsettled spells of weather at times, bringing some rain and perhaps strong winds. Temperatures are expected to be close to normal or slightly above.

A good deal of dry weather across the UK at first, but becoming more changeable at the start of this period with an increasing likelihood of showers or some longer spells of rain. This pattern continues through early July with changeable conditions bringing a mix of fine and dry periods and some outbreak of rain or showers, which could be heavy and thundery at times. Temperatures are likely to be above average.
