Rise in carbon dioxide off track for limiting global warming to 1.5°C
The increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) is now incompatible with IPCC pathways which remain below 1.5°C, a Met Office study finds.

A dry day with long sunny periods in the morning. Cloud will spread over Shetland in the afternoon and Orkney towards the evening. The southeast breeze will freshen in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
The night will be cloudy and mostly dry with a band of rain spreading northeast over Orkney after midnight and Shetland towards morning. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
The morning will begin cloudy with patchy light rain or drizzle. This will soon clear to leave a dry day with bright or sunny spells. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Tuesday and Wednesday will see bright spells interspersed with scattered showers in a light wind. Thursday with be cloudy with a freshening wind and further rain and showers.
