Dry first thing with sunny spells. Thickening cloud and outbreaks of light rain will spread north into Orkney through the morning, then into Shetland in the afternoon. Patchy low cloud and haar in places. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Rain and low cloud clear Shetland through the evening, dry with clear spells over Orkney. Another spell of rain spreads north overnight. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Friday:

Overnight rain clearing away in the morning with some haar at first across Shetland. Then mainly dry with some hazy sunshine and just the odd shower possible. A bit warmer. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Often dry and with bright spells and variable cloud through the weekend and but cloudier with some rain possible early Sunday. A touch cooler, cloudier Monday with rain at times.

Warm and dry for most on Bank Holiday Monday. Through the week, high pressure is expected to remain in place for much of the UK, meaning fine weather likely to continue for most places. Some patchy rain may affect the far north at times and perhaps a few showers in the far south. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds.

High pressure is likely to bring fair weather for most at first. Rain and showers are still possible at times, mainly across Northern Ireland and Scotland. As we head towards mid-June, more mixed conditions are likely with spells of rain and showers. Drier weather is expected between any bouts of wetter weather. These drier interludes will tend to last longer across the south and east of England. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above average overall, with some warm or very warm weather possible.
