Monday:

Cloudy morning, with limited brightness. Increasing chance of rain or showers with brighter spells by afternoon. Showers, probably turning heavy. Drier in evening with some late sunshine likely. Light winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Chilly start Tuesday, then sunny spells and mostly dry. Rain overnight, perhaps heavy, clearing to sunshine and showers Wednesday afternoon. Mostly fine Thursday. Temperatures near or rather above normal.

Most likely dry and often bright across much of the UK at the start of this period, although more cloud, and some rain are possible across western areas. Little changes through the first weekend, although the chance of a few heavy showers increases across the south. Into the following week, it will most probably be high pressure dominated, with large amounts of fine weather, and perhaps the odd heavy shower, especially in the south. However, there is a small chance of an alternative scenario coming off, with cloudier and wetter weather more extensive, especially across the south and west of the UK. Winds are most likely to be light, with temperatures probably at or slightly above normal.

The period begins with the two alternate scenarios continuing, most likely widely dry and settled, but a lower chance of more unsettled and wet conditions, especially in the south and west. Towards the middle of the month signals become weak and mixed, with more balanced chances of dry / settled and wetter / unsettled conditions. But compared to the start of this period, this represents an increased chance of more unsettled / wet conditions. There is however a strong signal for temperatures to be at or above average.
