Tuesday will be a dry day with patchy low cloud at first breaking during the morning to give plenty of sunny spells heading into the afternoon. Feeling very warm or hot in the gentle southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 30 °C.

Tonight:

It will stay dry with evening sunshine followed by clear periods overnight. However, the odd patch of low cloud could reform by the morning. A warm night with light winds. Minimum temperature 16 °C.

Wednesday:

Early low cloud will soon clear to leave another dry and settled day across the region with a good deal of sunshine. Turning hot in the afternoon, with light winds. Maximum temperature 33 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Turning fresher on Thursday with sunny spells and perhaps a few showers. Largely dry on Friday and Saturday with plenty of sunshine and fairly gentle winds. Still feeling pleasantly warm.

Mostly dry away from the north and northwest initially, where scattered showers are expected. There is a small chance that some other western parts could see some rain by the end of the weekend. Temperatures ranging from around average in the NW to warm in the southeast, perhaps becoming very warm in the southeast through the weekend. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK early in August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again towards the end of the first week of August.

Dry and settled conditions will probably dominate much of this period with high pressure patterns tending to affect the UK. This may be interrupted at times by Atlantic frontal systems, especially in the north, or thunderstorms in the south. However, overall rainfall amounts will likely be below normal. Temperatures will probably be above normal and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south.
