Today:

A very wet day with heavy and persistent rain throughout. This will be accompanied by a strong and gusty easterly wind. Feeling colder, especially toward the north of the region. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Continuing wet overnight, still with some heavy rain at times. Strong winds will also persist, especially toward the north. giving a chilly feel. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Saturday:

Further heavy into early Saturday, the rain gradually becoming lighter and more intermittent during the day. Feeling chilly, with a brisk easterly wind. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday, cloud and patchy rain clearing south. Largely dry and bright thereafter, but colder with an increasing chance of overnight frost. Breezy at times with a few, mainly coastal, showers.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all pasts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears later Tuesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
