Mostly dry evening, although a few heavy showers are possible, perhaps with the odd rumble of thunder. Further showers then spread north overnight, occasionally heavy and with frequent lightning. However there is a chance that the heaviest rain remains offshore. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday:

Any overnight rain easing. leaving a largely dry morning with sunny spells. Into the afternoon scattered showers are expected to develop, heavy at times, but with some parts staying dry. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

An unsettled bank holiday weekend with showers, occasionally heavy and the risk of thunder. Likely turning rather windy Monday. Temperatures near normal by day, but often staying rather mild overnight.

Likely remaining unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain across all areas at times. Rainfall amounts will probably be above average for the time year across many areas with the wettest conditions in the northwest. Potential for some strong winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop, perhaps becoming longer in duration across southern areas later in this period. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear though compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
