Relatively warm but on the cloudy side, with the odd spot of rain possible at times, mainly in the south. Probaby driest and brightest with some hazy sunny spells in the east. Temperatures above average, but cooler than on Sunday. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Becoming cloudier generally from the north, perhaps with a little rain possible. Markedly colder and clearer conditions then follow, with isolated showers in coastal districts. Slight grass frost possible. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Tuesday:

Markedly colder than of late, with temperatures widely below average. Otherwise a bright and breezy day, with scattered showers, these mainly in the north and east. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining rather cold through this period, accentuated by the wind. A mixture of sunny spells and showers is expected, the showers most often affecting the east. Overnight frosts returning.

Friday will stay rather cool and showery, especially in northern and western areas, where more-persistent rain or hill sleet is possible for a time. Then, next weekend will continue on a cool theme, with high pressure to the north probably becoming more dominant, but still with lower pressure to the south. There should be a good deal of dry weather on the whole, though spells of rain may get close to the far south from time to time. The following week (17th) is likely to see a transition to unsettled conditions, with Atlantic weather systems bringing wind and rain at times. The south and east could see the best of the drier interludes. Temperatures are likely to be below average at first with frosty nights, then above average later.

Confidence is low, but through the remainder of March changeable weather patterns are most likely. This means periods of unsettled, wet and windy weather interspersed with some drier and brighter spells. Into early April, there may be a transition to more-frequent drier and more settled spells. Temperatures will probably be above average overall.
