Headline:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Mild.

Today:

Rather cloudy with some showers at first, and a band of more general rain gradually moving northeastwards across the region through the day, heavy at times. Remaining mild. Becoming breezy at times. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Rain easing this evening to leave a largely dry night with clear spells. Some mist and fog patches developing and feeling chillier than previous nights. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Saturday:

A brighter day with sunny spells. The odd shower around during the afternoon but most places staying dry. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine with light winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry to start on Sunday, but soon turning unsettled later as rain pushes eastwards, with further rain arriving Monday. Becoming drier but windier on Tuesday with sunny spells. Chillier nights.

The start of this period is likely to be largely unsettled and mostly mild, with bands or areas of rain moving across most parts of the UK, although tending to be focused more on western and possibly southern parts. Locally strong winds may also accompany the rain at times. Some drier spells are also likely, the best of these probably towards the east and possibly the north. Where skies are clear and winds light overnight, frost and fog are likely, the fog slow to clear. From around the middle of the month, we may see a transition towards more generally drier weather across the UK, and with this it is likely to turn a little cooler overall, with a greater risk of overnight frost.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are highly uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
