Plenty of sunny spells this evening although staying rather blustery. Remaining quite windy overnight in coastal regions and over the higher ground. A dry night for most but turning cloudier with the odd shower moving into Cumbria later. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Often cloudy with a chance of occasional showers, these mostly in the north. Sunny intervals are likely too, these most frequent later in the day. Breezy and feeling fairly cool. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry with sunny periods on Sunday, but occasionally cloudy. Staying mainly dry early next week with some strong sunshine at times but a chance of a shower. Turning much warmer.

Some strong winds may accompany this, mainly around coasts in the north and west. Through next weekend and into the following week, high pressure will probably become more dominant with conditions turning more widely dry and settled. Temperatures are likely to be above normal for most parts, and across the southeast in particular it could be very warm or hot at times, especially next weekend.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing largely settled and dry conditions. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with the potential for hot conditions to develop, especially in the south. Into July, the influence of high pressure may weaken or shift more to the north or west of the UK, bringing an increasing chance of more unsettled weather and thunderstorms, especially in the south. Temperatures will probably ease back closer to normal too, although some warm and humid spells are still possible at times.
