Fine at first, with temperatures dipping under some hazy clear spells. Soon becoming cloudier however, with sporadic outbreaks of rain most likely in the northwest, these perhaps locally heavy with the odd rumble of thunder. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Friday:

Rather cloudy, with sporadic outbreaks of showery rain, most likely in the west early and late, this rain again possibly heavy with local thunder. Temperatures above average, with light winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Fine on Saturday, with eventual warm sunshine. Sunday starting similar but with low cloud likely spreading from coastal districts. Becoming colder through Monday in the wake of some rain.

High pressure will build across the UK from the northwest during the early part of this period. This will bring north or northeasterly winds during the middle of next week, with a mixture of sunny spells and some showers. The showers are likely to be most frequent in the north and east, and they will bring some snow to high ground. Temperatures are expected to be below normal. Through the end of the week and the following weekend, fine and dry conditions are likely for many areas, although a few showers are likely along coasts. Temperatures will likely be below normal. Into the week after, conditions will probably become milder and more changeable with some periods of rain and strong winds.

Confidence is low, but through the remainder of March changeable weather patterns are most likely. This means periods of unsettled, wet and windy weather interspersed with some drier and brighter spells. Into early April, there may be a transition to drier and more settled weather.
