Today:

Another hot day, dry and predominantly sunny to end the week. Feeling hot in many places with cooler conditions along coastal areas, with an onshore breeze. Maximum temperature 33 °C.

Tonight:

Becoming cloudy overnight with low cloud and fog coming off the North Sea and spreading slowly westwards by the morning. Temperatures remaining warm overnight but cooler along the coast. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Saturday:

Low cloud and fog lingering along the coast but lifting inland and remaining cloudy for most. A moderate easterly wind will keep temperatures a lot cooler than of late. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cloudy periods throughout Sunday, though brightening in the afternoon. Returning to dry and largely sunny conditions by Monday. Tuesday sees low cloud and fog spread inland. Temperatures around average.

High pressure initially situated to the north of the UK with low pressure over the Bay of Biscay starts the period with broadly settled weather for much of the UK. There will, however, be a risk of thunderstorms spreading into the south of the UK from France at times. Through the weekend potentially turning more unsettled with some rain or showers and thunderstorms at times as low pressure and a more northerly wind affect the UK at times. Temperatures will be warm or very warm for most, perhaps hot at times in the southwest initially, likely easing to warm or near average into the weekend, though further hot spells possible between systems.

The signal through the end of July and into August becomes increasingly mixed with spells of low pressure and more unsettled weather becoming more likely. There may still be some thunderstorms at times as well. There will still probably be some dry interludes, most probably in the south and southeast. Temperatures are likely to remain warm or very warm and some spells of hot weather remain possible.
