A bright start but the cloud will continue to build from the south, becoming widespread and perhaps bringing a few outbreaks of drizzle, mostly over the hills. Turning breezy. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Windy with rain on Wednesday, locally heavy, clearing to sunny spells and isolated showers. Further isolated showers on Thursday. Breezy and rather cloudy on Friday. Temperatures closer to average.

Initially, some outbreaks of rain may affect the UK, especially the north and west. This will lead to a drier than average period overall, with lighter winds than average.
