Rather cloudy this morning with a chance of rain, possibly including heavier bursts at times moving eastwards. Rain clearing by early afternoon bringing widespread very warm sunshine to the region and an increasingly humid feel. Winds light or moderate. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Tonight:

Fine and dry this evening. A muggy night to come for most and many places staying dry overnight, however some patchy rain could reach Lincolnshire and westernmost areas around dawn. Minimum temperature 16 °C.

Monday:

Largely cloudy through the morning with a chance of early rain but turning brighter by the afternoon. Bands of rain and showers pushing across the area overnight. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Sunny spells and isolated blustery showers Tuesday. Wednesday, mainly dry and bright with lighter winds then potentially turning wet and rather windy on Thursday. Temperatures around average for early September.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
