Cloudy start, with any lingering rain or drizzle from overnight soon easing. Staying rather cloudy, however this breaking in places to allow some hazy brighter or sunny spells. Feeling warm inland, but cooler on the Lincolnshire coast with onshore winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Evening brighter spells, followed by clear spells in the west at first. However some low cloud will soon spread inland from the Lincolnshire coast, with many parts cloudy by midnight. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

Chilly start to Easter Sunday with any early cloud clearing. A fine day follows, with warm sunshine. Staying cooler and cloudier along the coast, with an onshore breeze. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Changeable with some rain at times but also plenty of drier periods. More widespread showers likely Tuesday. Often cloudy, especially along the coast. Temperatures near normal, but some warm sunshine.

Many areas probably starting this period on a rather showery note, with central and southern parts of the UK more likely to see the heaviest and most frequent showers. These will likely be quite slow-moving with the chance of thunder in places. With time, high pressure is expected to become more dominant across the UK, with more prolonged spells of dry weather likely developing, although further rain or showers remain possible at times. Given often light winds and for some, a fair amount of sunshine, it should feel pleasantly warm by day, though areas subject to onshore winds and perhaps also most cloud, especially North Sea coasts, may remain somewhat cooler. Some chilly nights remain likely, especially where skies are clear.

Early May will probably see a good deal of settled weather with high pressure patterns most likely to dominate. There are signs that towards mid May, pressure may fall in the vicinity of the UK, bringing an increased chance of rain or showers. Throughout this period, temperatures are expected to be near to a little above average, though some day to day and regional variability is to be anticipated.
