Fine and dry for most. Warm in the sunshine.

Today:

Monday will be a generally dry day across the region with bright or sunny spells. Some more prolonged sunshine is possible later. Becoming warm in lighter winds. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining dry overnight with clear spells for many, however variable amounts of cloud will feed in across western counties of the region. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Tuesday:

A bright start, particularly in the east of the region. Cloudier elsewhere but conditions will improve as cloud lifts during the day. Feeling very warm, locally hot in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 28 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining largely settled over the coming days with plenty of sunshine. Very warm, with temperatures rising further and becoming hot locally by Wednesday. Cooler and less settled from Thursday.

Mostly dry away from the north and northwest where scattered showers are expected. There is a small chance that some other western parts could see some rain by the end of the weekend. Temperatures ranging from around average in the NW to warm in the southeast, perhaps becoming very warm in the southeast through the weekend. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK early in August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again toward the end of the first week of August.

Dry and settled conditions will probably dominate much of this period with high pressure patterns tending to affect the UK. This may be interrupted at times by Atlantic frontal systems, especially in the north, or thunderstorms in the south. However, overall rainfall amounts will likely be below normal. Temperatures will probably be above normal and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south.
