Widespread cloud brings further rain through the day, with heavy outbreaks at times carrying a risk of hail, thunder, and gusty winds. A few drier, brighter spells developing later in the afternoon and early evening. Cooler than recent days. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

A few further heavy showers through this evening, especially over higher ground, but turning drier for most overnight with clear spells developing. Feeling fresher too with a westerly wind. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Sunday:

Cloudy to start with rain spreading in from the west, turning heavy at times especially across the higher ground. Some brighter breaks too, but feeling cooler than recent day. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A generally drier and more settled period with plenty of sunny spells, and a few scattered showers, mainly over the hills. Winds becoming light with temperatures closer to average.

The wettest and windiest conditions are expected to be in the northwest, with spells of rain at times which may be heavy in places. It will likely be very warm or perhaps hot at first in the north, temperatures quickly becoming near normal or slightly above. More settled in the southeast with conditions drier overall, although some rain will probably spread from the west or northwest at times. There is also the risk that isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms could develop at times. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, perhaps with some hot spells in the southeast.
