Cloud will thicken from the southwest this evening bringing further mist and fog patches along with some outbreaks of rain. The rain will turn more patchy overnight. Warm and humid. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Wednesday:

Wednesday starts grey and misty with patchy drizzle. Low cloud will lift with some warm spells of sunshine developing during the day, though still a chance of an afternoon shower. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday will be rather cloudy and breezy with patchy rain and fog, especially in the north and west. Some warm sunshine thereafter, though with further spells of rain too.

Probably a north-south split at the start of this period. In the north, changeable and often rather cloudy with showers or some longer spells of rain, perhaps heavy at times, and temperatures near normal. In the south, mainly fine and dry with temperatures well above normal, albeit with a small risk of a few showers or thunderstorms at times. Into late June, high pressure may begin to build with conditions becoming more widely dry and settled. Temperatures are likely to be above normal for many areas.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing mainly dry, settled weather. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with the potential for hot conditions, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms, especially in the south. Into July, the influence of high pressure may weaken or shift more to the north of the UK. This leads to an increasing chance of periods of unsettled weather, either in the form of Atlantic low pressure systems moving in from the west or thunderstorms developing more widely compared to the start of the period. Temperatures will probably return closer to normal too, although some warm and humid spells remain likely at times.
