Today:

A dry and very warm to hot day with hazy sunshine to the north, brighter spells further south. A gentle breeze strengthens slightly during the afternoon before easing light by the evening. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

Tonight:

A dry start to the night but clouding over with outbreaks of rain in places during the second half. The wind remains light for most. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Saturday:

Any rain should quickly clear with sunny spells to follow. Sunshine turning a little hazy by the evening. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Largely bright and sunny throughout and notably hot, a little cooler along coasts with an onshore flow. The wind generally remaining light during this period.

With high pressure expected to remain in place for much of the UK, fine weather and light winds are likely to continue for most places. Although perhaps not as warm as the start of the week, temperatures will still be warm or very warm inland, but it will feel cooler near the coast, especially with an onshore breeze. Some patchy rain may affect the far northwest at times, with perhaps a few showers in the far south.

Rain and showers are still possible at times, mainly across Northern Ireland and Scotland. During mid-June, rain and showers may occur more widely for a time. Drier weather is expected between any bouts of wetter weather - these drier interludes will tend to last longer across the south and east of England. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above average overall, with some warm or very warm weather at times.
