Cloud and rain will mostly clear during the morning, allowing for sunny spells to develop for most by the afternoon, however cloud may linger across higher ground and also the far south. Winds easing and feeling milder than recent days. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Some clear spells initially bring the risk of an early frost and a few misty patches, but cloud building through the night with a few showers possible towards dawn. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Sunday:

Unsettled throughout with showers or longer spells of rain, which may turn wintry at times across the Pennines. Breezy with a risk of frost developing overnight in any clearer spells. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Unsettled with rain or showers on Monday. Showers becoming confined to mainly coastal regions on Tuesday with a frost expected overnight. Cloud and rain arriving later Wednesday and becoming mild.

After a settled start across much of England, it will be quickly turning unsettled across Scotland, Wales and then the rest of England through Wednesday and into Thursday, with cloud and rain bearing Atlantic systems heralding a trend back towards more changeable, or even unsettled conditions. There will be some short-lived transient settled periods too, perhaps bringing an increased risk of frost and fog for a day or two. Towards the end of the period, an increasing chance of more settled spells once again, although confidence is very low by this point. Initially starting cold across England and Wales for Wednesday, before temperatures rise across Scotland and then England and Wales as Atlantic weather systems arrive, and will more often be above average than below through much of the period.

There is an increased chance of settled spells at first, bringing more in the way of dry weather, light winds, and increased risk of overnight fog and frosts. This is associated with more frequent periods of high pressure which will probably never be too far away to the north or east. Whilst spells of wind/rain still remain possible they may be less frequent than usual at first, but a steady increase in periods of unsettled weather across southern and/or western areas in particular seems likely as the period progresses. Above average temperatures are slightly more likely overall, but colder spells, especially at first and in the north, could still occur. One or more spells of snow cannot be ruled out, should weather systems arriving from the south into colder air.
