A largely dry and bright morning with some sunny spells but cloud increases from the south during the afternoon. Outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain spreads erratically north through later in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Heavy showers with some thunder likely to continue through the evening, perhaps the far northwest remaining dry, strengthening southerly winds and a warm night. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Saturday:

Cloudy but mostly dry on Saturday and a very warm day with strong southerly winds, showery rain expected in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Feeling cooler on Sunday and Monday with fresh or strong winds and a few showers but a lot of bright weather too. Lighter winds on Tuesday and mainly dry.

Fairly changeable conditions at first with periods of rain and showers, and there could be some thundery outbreaks at times. The best of the drier and brighter weather initially will be across the southeast. Then perhaps a drier start to July for many, although the northwest may still see some rain at times, and perhaps accompanied by some strong winds. Temperatures are likely to be near average in the north and slightly warmer than average in the south, but with winds generally from the west temperatures aren't expected to be as hot as seen recently.

High pressure patterns are looking slightly more likely than low pressure patterns during the early part of this period, meaning a greater chance of settled and drier than average conditions. Although with outbreaks of rain and stronger winds at times, more especially across the north. There is still a chance of some changeable or more unsettled conditions developing later in the period, with a risk of some heavy and thundery showers. Temperatures are likely to be above normal on the whole, with a greater than normal chance of hot conditions developing at times.
