This Evening and Tonight:

Cloudy with outbreaks of heavy rain spreading east through the evening. Further outbreaks of heavy rain overnight, perhaps thundery for a time, then turning more showery towards morning. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Tuesday:

Frequent showers feed in from the northwest through the day, heavy and thundery at times. Best of any brighter spells in the east. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Showers Wednesday morning, becoming dry and bright by midday. A band of heavy rain pushes east Wednesday evening. Frequent heavy showers on Thursday, easing Friday morning, then further rain later.

The weather will remain changeable. Occasional rain or showers will push in from the North Atlantic, most frequent across northern and western parts of the UK, accompanied by strong winds at times. However, there will also be some reasonably dry and more settled periods in between these systems, especially across southern areas. There is a chance settled weather may expand further northwards during the final week of September. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall, but there is scope for some rather warm days at times, as well as relatively cool nights which may bring the occasional grass frost.

A changeable theme is likely to continue, with further spells of rain and showers arriving from the North Atlantic, perhaps accompanied by strong winds at times. These are more likely to affect northern and western parts, but could also affect the wider UK if such systems push east or southeastwards. Some settled spells are also possible during this period, these most likely in the south. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall.
