It will stay dry in the east with some bright or sunny spells, but likely cloudier for a time in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy in the west with the odd light shower. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Dry in the east to start with some evening sunshine. Cloud and outbreaks of rain spread east through the evening and overnight, rain occasionally heavy in the west. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Tuesday:

A cloudy morning with occasionally heavy rain. Some drier spells may develop in the north and east in the afternoon between showers, cloud and rain remaining persistent in west. Windy. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy with occasionally heavy rain and strong winds on Wednesday morning, brighter later with some showers. Bright spells and scattered showers on Thursday and Friday.

Mostly dry away from the north and northwest initially, where scattered showers are expected. There is a small chance that some other western parts could see some rain by the end of the weekend. Temperatures ranging from around average in the NW to warm in the southeast, perhaps becoming very warm in the southeast through the weekend. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK early in August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again towards the end of the first week of August.

Dry and settled conditions will probably dominate much of this period with high pressure patterns tending to affect the UK. This may be interrupted at times by Atlantic frontal systems, especially in the north, or thunderstorms in the south. However, overall rainfall amounts will likely be below normal. Temperatures will probably be above normal and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south.
