Today:

A few bright spells in the east otherwise rather cloudy with scattered showers. These will turn heavy for a time across Caithness and Sutherland this afternoon. Showers becoming light and fewer elsewhere this afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers dying out this evening. Then dry with clear spells, turning rather chilly in places. Thickening cloud will bring rain to the south later in the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday:

A cloudy morning with rain spreading to all parts. Turning drier in the afternoon with a few showers in the west. Some afternoon brightness developing around Inverness and Nairn. Warm. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Mainly dry and warm on Friday, rain likely by evening. Dry, warm and bright over the weekend.

Warm and dry for most on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Through the following week, high pressure is expected to remain in place for much of the UK, meaning fine weather likely to continue for most places. Some patchy rain may affect the far north at times and perhaps a few showers in the far south. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds.

High pressure is likely to bring fair weather for most at first. Rain and showers are still possible at times, mainly across Northern Ireland and Scotland. As we head towards mid-June, more mixed conditions are likely with spells of rain and showers. Drier weather is expected between any bouts of wetter weather. These drier interludes will tend to last longer across the south and east of England. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above average overall, with some warm or very warm weather possible.
