It will be rather cloudy with the best of any breaks through Moray and western Aberdeenshire leading to a frost and some freezing fog patches. Milder under the cloud, winds remaining light. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Friday:

Dry and mostly cloudy in the morning, the best of the brightness through Moray and western Aberdeenshire, where any frost and fog slow to clear. Increasing bright spells developing later. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mainly dry and settled. Often cloudy but some bright spells at times, with a frost at night if skies remain clear. A scattering of showers possible on Monday. Rather chilly.

High pressure is likely to dominate across the UK through to the end of the year, centred to the west or northwest over the North Atlantic. This will bring an increased risk of some rain or showers at times which, with cold air close to the UK, may bring some wintry hazards to some places. Temperatures will probably be near or slightly below average for this period overall.

Whilst confidence in details is low, high pressure will probably sit close to the UK initially, with periods of relatively settled weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. Temperatures will likely be near or slightly below average during this time, with an enhanced risk of wintry hazards affecting some parts at times. Later in the period, a transition to more widely changeable or unsettled conditions is possible, with a corresponding shift to near or slightly above average temperatures.
