It will be a dry day today with some good spells of sunshine. Fresh northwesterly winds easing down this morning and backing southwesterly this afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

This evening will be dry with clear periods. Then the rest of the night will be dry with clear periods, perhaps a light shower later on. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday:

After a dry morning outbreaks of rain will spread from the west in the afternoon and early evening along with freshening southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Mainly dry on Friday with sunny spells and the odd passing shower. Rain will spread east on Saturday, drier by evening. Dry and bright on Sunday.

Remaining changeable, with occasional rain or showers arriving from the North Atlantic, most frequent across northern and western parts of the UK, where some strong winds will also be possible at times. However, there will also be some reasonable dry and more settled periods, especially across southern areas. Later in the month, high pressure may become more dominant in the vicinity of the UK, perhaps bringing more widely settled conditions for a time, especially away from the far north. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall, but there is scope for some rather warm days at times, along with occasional relatively cool nights.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may start to weaken its influence on the weather later in the month and into early October. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
