This Evening and Tonight:

The mix of clear spells and blustery showers will continue through the night. The strong southeasterly wind and coastal gales will decrease, turning fresh south to southwesterly towards the morning. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday:

Any showers will soon clear during the morning to leave increasing sunny spells. A few showers may affect Orkney in the afternoon, staying dry and sunny over Shetland. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Dry with sunny periods Tuesday. Cloud and rain spread northeast Wednesday, clearing north Wednesday night. Bright spells and showers follow from the south Thursday. Windy at times Wednesday and Thursday.

This will bring showers or longer spells of rain at times, heaviest and most persistent in the northwest, together with some strong winds. The southeast is likely to be driest and brightest. Later in this period, conditions may become drier and more settled, perhaps more especially in the north or northwest, with the south possibly becoming the focus for showers or longer spells of rain. Temperatures will likely be near or slightly above average overall.
