Any daytime showers fading this evening to leave a mostly dry night, with some clear spells developing. Perhaps the odd coastal shower. A cold night, with patchy frost. Light winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Saturday:

A cold start, with a touch of frost in places. Otherwise, a largely dry day, with variable cloud and bright or sunny spells. Perhaps the odd shower. Light winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Becoming less cold into next week. Perhaps on the cloudy side on Sunday, but any showers increasingly isolated, with some brighter spells. Fine and dry conditions on Monday and Tuesday.

High pressure is expected to be centred to the east of the UK initially, with a good deal of fine, dry and reasonably sunny weather in a south to southeasterly flow. Temperatures are expected to rise, to well above average in some areas. Later in the week there will likely be a gradual transition to less settled conditions from west to east, as low pressure becomes more dominant with an increasing chance of rain or showers by the weekend and into the final week of March, perhaps heavy in places. Temperatures, initially above average, will likely trend back closer to normal, although with more cloud this will tend to reduce the risk of frost to an extent.

Confidence is low, but changeable weather patterns are most likely at the end of March. This means periods of unsettled, wet and windy weather interspersed with some drier and brighter spells. Into early April, there may be a transition to more frequent drier and more settled spells. Temperatures will probably be above average overall.
