Today:

Any mist or fog quickly clearing after dawn to leave a dry day with plenty of strong summer sunshine. Some fair weather cloud bubbling up from time to time. Feeling warmer than on Saturday with lighter winds. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Tonight:

A dry and warm evening and staying dry overnight. Perhaps a few isolated mist or fog patches in prone rural spots by dawn. Not as cool as during recent nights. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday:

Dry and bright, with lengthy sunny spells. Skies turning cloudier later. Chance of showers later in the day, perhaps with thunderstorms by the evening. Maximum temperature 28 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Largely dry and hot with plenty of sunshine Tuesday. Isolated thunderstorms possible overnight before turning somewhat fresher Wednesday, with a chance of showers. Staying warm and largely dry on Thursday.

A changeable pattern at first with spells showers, which may be locally heavy and perhaps thundery, but there will be drier interludes. Showers will tend to ease through the early part of the period as high pressure builds. Much of England could still see warm or very warm temperatures for at least a couple of days and there is a possibility that the heat could last further into the week, especially in the south. Beyond this high pressure will likely continue to build from the Atlantic leading to plenty of fine weather with perhaps the odd heavy shower or thunderstorm. Meanwhile a rather more changeable and breezier theme will continue further to the north but it may become increasingly settled. Temperatures will probably continue to be above normal.

High pressure, and therefore largely settled conditions overall, appears more likely at first. Although dry weather is likely to dominate, periods of rain or showers and thunderstorms may develop at times. Above average temperatures overall seem most likely, with the potential for further hot spells to develop, especially in the east and south. By the turn of the month, there are signals for high pressure to become less dominant with perhaps a greater chance of some rain, though there is some uncertainty in this aspect of the forecast.
