Early sleet and rain soon clears eastwards, then brighter conditions follow before a narrow band of heavy rain, moves quickly east through the afternoon. Rather cold. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Monday bright or sunny spells and scattered showers. Tuesday mostly dry with bright or sunny spells. Wednesday rather cold with probably spells of rain, possibly turning to hill snow.

Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow probable at times, mainly on high ground in the north. Temperatures varying from around or a little above average, especially in the south, to cold at times, especially in the north. While unsettled weather is likely to dominate, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
