Another day of long sunny spells, though rather breezy once again, with the strongest winds near coasts and across hills. Warm inland but cooler along the coast. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

A fine evening leading into a dry and chilly night with long clear spells. Brisk winds near coasts easing through the night. Chance of frost. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

Friday, starting chilly then mostly fine through the day and turning very warm by afternoon. Chance of cloud bringing showers later, mainly across the Pennines. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Cloudier over the weekend and into Monday with an increased chance of rain or showers at times. Temperatures returning to near normal with generally light winds.

A fairly quiet start to the period looks likely with many areas seeing a good deal of dry weather. That said we are unlikely to see a return of the completely dry and warm weather we have see in recent days, with clear or sunny periods and showers more likely. Toward the latter part of the period a trend toward more changeable weather is favoured although there should still be some drier intervals. Overall temperatures likely close to or a little below average at first, especially in the north, then returning close to average or rather warm later.

Low pressure systems are likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, heavy in places. There will, however, be some dry and warm interludes, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the month, more settled and drier conditions may begin to develop, with temperatures perhaps rising slightly above normal.
