It will be a mixed day of bright and sunny spells with a few showers possible. Showers may be heavy and perhaps thundery at times. Fresh westerly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Some late bright or sunny spells this evening but heavy and perhaps thundery showers around. Overnight will see showers gradually ease with some clear intervals. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday:

A largely dry day with bright or sunny spells, possibly a light, isolated shower in the morning. Cloud and rain spreading northeastwards in the evening. Fresh southwesterly winds turning southerly. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Low cloud and rain Friday clears to the north to leave bright spells and showers. Bright spells and showers Saturday. Dry with sunny periods Sunday. Stronger winds Friday then easing.

Fine and dry across much of the UK for the first couple of days of this period with long spells of sunshine for most. Temperatures are likely to be above normal and parts of the south could be very warm for a time. A more unsettled spell is likely through the middle of next week with outbreaks of rain the north and northwest, some of which could spread to parts of the south and southeast at times. After this, high pressure will probably become more dominant with conditions turning widely dry and settled, and probably very warm for many.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing settled and mainly dry conditions. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with potential for hot conditions to develop, especially in the south. Into July, weakening of the high pressure may bring an increasing chance of more unsettled weather and thunderstorms, especially in the south.
