The evening will continue cloudy and dry but patchy rain will spread to Orkney towards midnight and Shetland later. Rain becomes widespread over Orkney towards morning. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain becoming locally heavy from mid-morning. The rain will clear Orkney towards the evening. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain clears Shetland early Sunday. This will be followed by clear or bright spells interspersed with the occasional shower Monday and Tuesday.

High pressure is set to dominate across the UK early in this period, bringing a lot of dry weather. Some places may start foggy, this slow to clear, possibly even lingering all day. Elsewhere, cloud amounts will be variable, but there should be some sunshine. Cloud may be thick enough at times for a little light drizzle though. For most, temperatures are likely to be close to normal for the time of year, though it will be chilly where any fog lingers. Some overnight frost is likely where skies are clear and winds remain light. As we head into the following week, there are signs that more unsettled weather may return, but confidence surrounding this change is low.

During the second half of November, there is an increasing chance of changeable or more unsettled conditions developing, which would mean spells of rain and the potential for strong winds at times. The extent and location of the wettest and/or windiest areas are very uncertain at this range, with the wettest and windiest weather probably towards the north and west, but there are hints that overall the south may be wetter than normal whilst the northwest is drier than normal, suggesting the possibility that areas of low pressure may be steered further south than normal. Overall, temperatures will probably be near or a little above normal for the time of year.
