The day will start dry with a few bright intervals. However, through the morning cloud will thicken to bring outbreaks of rain by the afternoon. A wet end to the day with locally heavy rain. Mild with fairly gentle winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Rain will clear away to the southeast this evening, leaving a dry night with clear periods. A widespread frost developing, with the chance of some fog and icy patches forming. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Wednesday:

Morning frost and any fog lifting during the morning to leave a dry day across the region with some sunshine. Cloud gradually increasing during the afternoon. A colder day. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Patchy rain on Wednesday night clearing for a time on Thursday. Further wet and windy weather arriving later though, clearing to sunshine and occasional showers on Friday and Saturday.

It will likely remain changeable for the UK as a whole through this period. Further areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic will tend to dominate, meaning showers or longer spells of rain for many parts. Wet weather will probably be most prevalent across western areas, though given the potential for low pressure systems to become slow-moving in the vicinity of the UK, heavy rain is possible anywhere at times. Periods of windy weather are also possible at times. There are also likely to be some drier, more settled periods though, mainly towards the east. Temperatures will probably be near normal overall, though the possibility exists for some colder spells in the north and east, with the potential for associated winter hazards.

Changeable conditions are most likely to continue through this period. This means an ongoing likelihood of further spells of rain and windy conditions at times, these perhaps most prevalent in the west, but also there should also be some interludes of drier weather too, these perhaps more likely in the east. Temperatures probably remaining close to average overall, but there is the possibility of colder conditions and associated winter hazards at times, due to higher pressure extending from the north or east. Late in the period, there is currently a hint that a north-south or northwest-southeast split develops, with wetter weather becoming more confined towards the north or northwest and drier conditions developing further south or southeast.
