UK weather
This Evening and Tonight:
Scattered showers will continue tonight across the north and west, with any thunderstorms soon easing. Drier elsewhere with clear spells. Winds easing but staying breezy in the north, and feeling fresher for all of us than recent nights.
Wednesday:
Dry for many on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies and some bright spells. Scattered showers are possible where the cloud thickens. A fresher feeling day for many, but winds easing.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Staying changeable this week with showers or longer spells of rain at times, interspersed with some drier and brighter spells. Often breezy, with strong winds at times in the north.
Outlook for Sun 20 Sep to Tue 29 Sep
The first part of this period will likely see a build of pressure across much of the UK, with Atlantic weather fronts becoming more confined to northern and northwestern areas. As such, plenty of dry and increasingly warm and perhaps rather humid weather will develop, whilst the bulk of the rain and possible strong winds are more likely to affect the northwest of the UK. Many areas may remain mostly settled towards the end of September, but there is the possibility of areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic bringing more widely unsettled conditions.
Outlook for Wed 30 Sep to Wed 14 Oct
More changeable weather may become established more widely as we move into October, though parts of the west and northwest are perhaps most likely to see wet and windy conditions at times. As is not untypical as we move towards mid October, deep low pressure systems could bring occasional periods of very strong winds. Temperatures are likely to remain above normal overall, though brief cooler interludes are also possible.
